George "Pete" S. Garner

Mr. George “Pete” S. Garner, 69, of Fayetteville, NC passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 in Haymount Rehab & Nursing Center surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on July 25, 1950, in Cumberland County, NC to the late George Garner and Ruby Smith Garner. Preceding him in death also are one sister Barbara Sparkman and a nephew Jay Sparkman.

He was formerly employed with Burns Security. Pete retired from Cumberland County School Systems.

Pete was survived by three sisters Frances Thomas, and husband Wayne, of Fayetteville, NC, Beverly Cannon, and husband Tim, of Fayetteville, NC and Judy Baker, and husband Eddie of Stedman, NC; six nephews Tommy, Michael, Stephen, Bryan, Daren, and Brandon; and one niece Donna; and a host of extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 1, 2019 at Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service from 3:00 p.m. until 3:50 p.m.

A memorial service will follow at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Jerry Johnson and Rev. Richard Williford officiating.
