George Liepins

George Liepins, 90, of Fayetteville, NC, died peacefully at home on September 29, 2022, with his wife of 52 years, Edith, at his side.

George retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the US Army after 28 years of service including tours in Vietnam. Following his retirement, he worked for over 2 decades in property management in the Sandhills.

He is survived by his wife, Edith, son Andrew Liepins and spouse Brian Anthony, son Matthew Lee, granddaughters Laura and Sarah Liepins, cousin Baiba Simane and family, and extended family both in the US and Germany.

He is preceded in death by his father, Teodors Liepins, mother Jefrosinijas Scerbinskis, sister Katarina Granta and son Thomas Liepins.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the charity of their choice.

A memorial service is scheduled for 11am, on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service.
