Else Marie Muldrow

Else “Marie” Sorensen Muldrow, 85, of Fayetteville, NC passed away on 17 October 2022 succumbing to pneumonia.

Marie was born on 25 July 1937 to the late Holger and Thora Sorensen in Copenhagen, Denmark. She was the eldest to her sister Thora Sorensen and brothers Henning Sorensen and Neils-Jorgen Sorensen. Upon graduation from grade school, Else moved to France and in 1962 moved to the United States. In1966, Else met Phillip Muldrow Jr. in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Phillip Muldrow Jr and five children. Roderick Doss and wife, Raydale of Columbus, GA; Steve Doss and wife Christina of Fayetteville, NC; Sandra Doss of Fayetteville, NC; step-children Vanessa Stovall and husband Shawn of Lakeland, FL; Ronald Muldrow and wife Beth of Amarillo,TX and eight grandchildren, Toni, Jontu’e, Shayla, Roderick Jr, Michael, Brandi, Brianna, and Natalie and 28 great-grandchildren.

Marie worked as a bartender for over 30 years and later lived her life as a homemaker, enjoying her time with her beloved canines (Simone, Roscoe, and Bobby), tending to her beautiful garden, spending endless hours reading, bird watching and sewing extravagant tapestries. Marie took great pride in her home and taking care of her family. She loved to cook and entertain. She was a wonderful hostess to her friends. She was known to be a strong woman with a bold personality, with a witty tongue, and one who was never shy with words. Her husband accredits her for his successful career, serving as a SGM in the United
States Army. She will be deeply missed by her beloved family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at Sullivan’s Highland Chapel on Sunday, 23 October 2022 at 10:30am.
