Dr. Jackie "Jack" Vann Hill

Dr. Jackie “Jack” Vann Hill, 85, of Fayetteville, NC passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2018.

He was born on May 23, 1932 in Sampson Co. NC to the late Samuel Crawford Hill, Jr. and Allie Knowles Hill.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War.

Jack attended North Carolina State University and received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Oklahoma State University.   Dr. Hill practiced as a Veterinarian for over 50 years and most recently retired from Grays Creek Animal Hospital.  Jack was a past District Governor of Rotary Club International.  He was also a Mason and Shriner.  Jack served on the board of trustees of Fayetteville State University.

Surviving him is his wife of 54 years Helen Torrans Hill, of the home; two sons Dr. Samuel C. Hill, IV and wife Karen of Florence, SC and Dr. Ashley Hill and wife Jennifer of Fayetteville, NC: one daughter The Honorable Superior Court Judge Claire V. Hill of Fayetteville, NC; five grandchildren Grayson Hill, Sydney Hill, Owen Hill, Emery Hill and Elise Hill; a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family. 

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 6, 2018 from 9:45 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service.  A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. G. Bruce Skipper.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to FAPS 327 Bragg Blvd., Fayetteville, NC 28303, or to Unchained Cumberland County Big Fix 7132 Sim Canady Road, Hope Mills, NC 28348.
