David B. Frazelle

David Blair Frazelle, 72, of Fayetteville, passed away at his residence, Tuesday, July 30, 2024.

Mr. Frazelle was born October 6, 1951, in Onslow County to the late Charlie J Frazelle and Myra Godfrey Frazelle. He graduated from Hoggard High School in Wilmington, NC. He went on to complete a BS in Accounting at UNC Chapel Hill. After graduating from UNC, he was awarded the Elijah Watt Sells Certificate with Honorable Mention from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. 

Over the course of 50 years, David held an array of jobs from Comptroller at Raleigh Federal Savings and Loan to a CPA with AM Pullen; McGladrey Hendrix and Pullen; TRP; and a successful partnership for over 25 years with Griffin Maxwell and Frazelle. David was a well-respected business and civic leader serving his community. He used his impeccable knowledge of numbers to give back to his community by serving on Finance committee at Haymount UMC and treasurer of Cape Fear Kiwanians for many years.

David is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Donna Dean Frazelle; two daughters, Lindee Luper (Ben) and Virginia Davis; five grandchildren, Colton, Samuel, Addison, Myra, and Ruth; his brother, Charles Frazelle; sister, Marsha Bertholf (Roger); and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to give special acknowledgement to Toni and Paige Caravalho, who lived with David and Donna for several years.

David’s funeral will be held at Haymount United Methodist Church on August 8, 2024 at 3:00 pm. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.  Memorials may be made to the Haymount United Methodist Church Columbarium Fund, 1700 Fort Bragg Road,Fayetteville, NC 28303.

David will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
