Curtis Mitchel Barnes

Curtis Mitchel Barnes gained his wings and left this earthly home to his heavenly home on February 24, 2025.

Born May 6, 1954, to Arch Franklin Barnes and Letha West Barnes in Robeson Co., NC. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Glen Barnes, Earl Barnes, Junior Barnes, Hubert Barnes, Eugene Barnes, sisters, Margaret Watts, Ruby Collins, and Betty Rose Britt.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Terry Barnes; a daughter, Pamela Owens; grandchildren, John Owens (Kristie) and Cheyenne Owens (Devin); great-grandkids who he loved and cherished, Jake, Alec, Adelina, Ashlynn, Cayden; sisters, Annie Jackson, Lucy Hulon, Frances Ott; and a brother Rickey Barnes.

Although we are going to miss him terribly, we have comfort in knowing that he is cancer free and he is healed and no longer in pain and reunited with loved ones. 

A celebration of life will be on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Salem United Methodist Church, 2165 Middle Road, Fayetteville, NC 28312.Services are entrusted to Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service & Crematory.
