Christopher John Speight

Christopher John Speight, of Raeford, North Carolina born February 24, 1980, unexpectedly left this Earth on January 23, 2024. He leaves his legacy, memories, and powerful affection to which will course through the love of his life, Linda K, and will continue to flourish within his children Taylor with granddaughter Hayslei, Jessica, Zachary, and fiance’ Brook, Stephanie, and Yaniasia. Chris is survived by his mother Tammy, his father Joe, and wife Susan, and his mother-in-law Helen. He has many brothers and sisters whether by blood or by love that made them family, Lindsey, Pamela, Crystal, Shelby, Mae with partner Chris, Amanda with husband Gary, Billy, Kevin, Bubba, Jon, and RB. Chris loved his many nieces and nephews, Katlin, Tori, Brittany, Lil Will, Alex, Greg, Alexis, Aj, Michael, and Ethan.

Chris is preceded in death by his father John Sorrells, brother-in-law Will, father-in-law Pops, grandparents, Uncle Dwayne, sister Kristy, brother Tommy and nephew Benjamin. In Chris’s 43 years of life on this Earth brought him many achievements. He was a veteran of the United States Army and spent 20 years in HVAC services. Chris overcame many obstacles in life to find his way back to church and be the best for his family. His family was his life and if you were a part of his circle you knew his love was a force of nature, determined to do what he could for you. His sarcastic nature made people laugh and that “tell it like it is” demeanor might have never held sugar, but you always knew where you stood and what his opinions were. He had a passion for riding motorcycles and with that came many acquaintances. May he ride high in the winds of heaven and be the angel that watches over all of his family and friends, for his love and memories will always be in our hearts. We love you!
