Brigitte Mathlide Anna Pluta

Brigitte Mathilde Anna Pluta AKA “Kitty”, 89, of Fayetteville passed away on December 7, 2024, at her home.

She was born on July 12, 1935, in Potsdam, Germany to the late Gustav and Frieda Sourell. Also preceding her in death was her husband of 53 years, Thaddeus Richard Pluta.

 Kitty married Thaddeus on December 11, 1959, while he was stationed in Berlin, Germany. She then moved to the United States in 1960.

Kitty and Thaddeus had their only child in March of 1961. His name is Marek.

Kitty received her U.S. Certificate of Naturalization in March of 1972.

She enjoyed traveling when she could. Kitty belonged to the local German Club and had taken several group bus trips around the country. Periodically she would go back to Germany. As time went on, her travels included getting lost in cooking shows on tv.

She found joy in working in her yard and sharing a laugh or two with good friends.

Most of all, She was an incredible mom and will be deeply missed.

Left to cherish Kitty’s memory is her son, Marek.
