Annie Ruth Melvin

Annie Ruth Cain Melvin, wife of Carson (C.S.) Melvin, passed away on December 10, 2012, after a two year battle with cancer. She was a long time member of Marvin United Methodist Church and an active member of the Gray’s Creek Woman’s Club . She will be remembered as a devoted wife, and a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is also survived by her husband of 59 years, C.S. Melvin, son Tommy Melvin (Tonya) of Raleigh, son Franklin Melvin (Karen) of Fayetteville, son-in-law Gerald DePastino (Sharon-deceased) of St. Joseph, MO, grandchildren, Nikki Tanner (Eddie) of Amissville, VA, Jason Melvin (Casey) of Cullowhee, NC Antonio and Anna Marie DePastino of St. Joseph, MO, great grandchildren Reilly and Griffin Tanner of Amissville, VA.
She is also survived by her brothers, Sonny Cain (Pat) of Hope Mills, Ricky Cain (Betty) of Winston-Salem, Eddie Cain (Cathy) of St. Pauls and sisters Carolyn Sherrill of Fayetteville, Doris Calloway of Raeford, Shirley Rozier of Fayetteville.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon DePastino and sisters, Vivian McNeill and Sophia Dawson.
The family will receive friends on Friday, December 14, 2012 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service & Crematory, Inc. Funeral services will be conducted at Marvin United Methodist Church on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow at church cemetery.
